Our WISPAPALOOZA 2017 Experience
Last week, three Preseem team members were in Las Vegas showcasing our QoE monitoring and optimization platform at WISPAPALOOZA 2017. We put a lot of effort into our presentations for this important event and couldn’t be happier with the results.
Prior to the event, we booked dedicated times for meetings with customers, as well as demos for interested WISPs. This allowed us to make the best use of our time between sessions and answer in-depth questions from operators.
Day 1
On Day 1, our co-founder and Chief Product Officer Dan Siemon gave a presentation on subscriber QoE monitoring during the Sonar training session. This generated interest about our API integration with Sonar and how WISPs can get actionable QoE metrics in their network.
Day 2
On Day 2, the first official day of WISPAPALOOZA 2017, we learned during the opening remarks that this year’s event was the biggest ever, with over 1,780 attendees and more then 115 vendors. From the time the exhibit hall opened until late evening, we fielded questions at our booth on how Preseem can find and fix QoE issues for WISPs. We also talked about how Preseem can help their network become more effective, efficient and profitable.
Day 3
On Day 3, we had an early morning start with Dan presenting on the QoE panel and our CEO Gerrit Nagelhout taking the stage to talk about network monitoring options for WISPs.
Dan highlighted how QoE monitoring differs from DPI and application-based monitoring platforms. He also explained why WISPs need to care about the QoE their network delivers to its subscribers.
Gerrit’s focus was on highlighting the key shortcomings with traditional network monitoring tools. Namely, those that focus on monitoring routers and CPEs, and not the real data traffic down to the subscriber level. After our busy exhibit hours, we attended the annual awards night, where Preseem was one of three nominees for the Service of the Year award. While we didn’t win, just getting nominated is a major honor for us. Being mentioned alongside Cambium Networks and Sonar is a true highlight in our company’s journey.
Day 4
Day 4 at WISPAPALOOZA 2017 was reserved for operator discussions. The exhibit hall remained packed throughout the day as attendees learned about the latest offerings and technologies.
While we couldn’t stay for the Fiber Friday event, WISPAPALOOZA 2017 was one of the best industry events we’ve ever attended. We’d like to say thank you to WISPA and all the organizers for putting on a great show. We learned a lot, made great connections and had a ton of fun!
