In October, 2019, Preseem hosted a Fireside Chat at WISPAPALOOZA with three operators of successful WISPs: Adair Winter of Amarillo Wireless / AW Broadband, Darin Steffl of Minnesota WiFi, and Brian Gray of Joink LLC. As a result, this unique setup enabled key insights to be gleaned from the experiences of these veteran WISPs. Moreover, open admission to the Fireside Chat meant that anyone wanting to learn about WISP best practices and WISP business tips were welcome to join in! The open-forum nature of the chat also gave WISPs the opportunity to have any of their fixed-wireless questions answered.

 

In the first of this four-part series, we will learn about each of the panel member’s businesses. Additionally, we will delve into their answers to the following questions:

  • Is there anything about your business or geography that you think is unique?
  • If you don’t build your own towers, do you rent tower space or ask a tower company to build one for you?
